Seal it, brand it, finish it

Packaging stickers do two jobs at once. They hold things closed — the fold of tissue paper around a product, the flap of a gift box, the top of a paper bag — and they put your brand on the first thing a customer touches. A plain box with a well-placed seal looks like a decision rather than a default.

Which shape for which job

Circles are the classic seal and suit logos drawn as a badge or a monogram. Rectangle stickers are the label shape: product names, a website, a short thank-you line, a return address on a mailer. Rounded-corner labels have softened corners that are less likely to catch and lift on boxes that get handled a lot.

If the sticker is a gift rather than a seal — something to drop into the order for the customer to keep — kiss cut stickers on a backing square travel well in a mailer and peel easily, and sticker sheets put several designs on one backing.

Sizes that work on packaging

Around 1.5″ to 2″ for seals on tissue paper and bag folds, 2″ to 3″ on box lids and mailer flaps, and wider rectangles for labels that carry text. Any custom size from 1″ to 36″ per side can be entered, so a label can be made to fit a particular box or jar exactly.

Measure the spot on the actual packaging before you order. A seal that crosses a fold needs enough sticker on either side of it to hold; a label needs a little clear space around it so it does not wrap over an edge.

Surfaces, finishes and quantities

Vinyl bonds best to smooth, dry surfaces: printed or coated boxes, poly mailers, coated paper bags, tissue, glass and plastic jars. Rough, uncoated or heavily textured board gives the adhesive less to grip, so try it on your packaging first — ask for samples through the contact page if you are unsure.

Gloss makes colours pop, Matte gives a soft, glare-free look that photographs well for unboxing posts, and Clear lets the packaging colour show through. All three are waterproof, so seals survive rain on the doorstep. Orders start at ten pieces, and the price per sticker drops as you move to 500 or 1,000.

A seal goes on every order, so packaging stickers are usually bought by the hundred. Spares keep for a year or more stored flat on their backing, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, so a larger run does not go to waste.
