Sticker Sizing Guide: How Big Should Your Sticker Be?
Size is the first thing people second-guess after ordering. It is hard to picture 3 inches on a screen, so here is how our presets compare to everyday objects, and which size suits each use.
How we measure
Stickers are measured by their longest side. A 3″ die-cut of a tall logo is 3″ high; a 3″ circle is 3″ across. Every size from 1″ to 36″ is available, and the calculator accepts custom width and height.
The presets, in real-world terms
- 2″ — about the size of a cookie. Great for product labels, packaging seals, thank-you stickers and small phone decals.
- 3″ — a sticky note. The most popular size: laptops, water bottles, notebooks, hand-outs at events.
- 4″ — a slice of bread. Reads clearly from a few feet away; ideal for laptops with more detail, toolboxes and storefront windows.
- 5″ — a CD. Car bumpers, cooler lids, skateboards and signage.
Match the size to the surface
- Water bottles: 2″–3″ so the sticker wraps around the curve without lifting.
- Laptops: 3″–4″ for a single hero sticker, 2″ if you plan a collage.
- Packaging: 2″ for a logo seal, 3″–4″ for a full label.
- Cars and windows: 4″ and up so the design reads at a distance.
Design details that depend on size
Fine lines and small text shrink with the sticker. Keep text at least 6 pt at print size and lines thicker than 0.5 pt. For a 2″ sticker that means a logo with a short wordmark, not a paragraph. Our artwork guidelines cover the safe zone and resolution you need for each size.
